Youth Outreach Services (YOS), a Zealous Good charity that supports Chicago youth who are homeless, have runaway or are in foster care, raised an incredible $30,000 at their spring soiree fundraiser on May 3rd.
In an email to Zealous Good from Claire Barner, Administrative Project Manager at YOS, she explains how the silent auction, furnished with Zealous Good donations, helped them reach their goal:
“Zealous Good played an important role in helping us develop an exciting group of silent auction items. One challenge when putting together a silent auction is that most donations come in the form of gift certificates. When guests bid at our silent auctions, we like to feature packages that include both tangible goods and gift certificates. Our partnership with Zealous Good allowed us to feature many exciting silent auction items that were a wonderful compliment to our gift certificates. Zealous Good helped us secure $1173 worth of donations from Groupon Goods.”
The Zealous Good-Groupon Goods partnership is one that grew out of a desire to place more quality items in the hands of in-need charities. Since the partnership began, Groupon Goods, a division of Groupon that features deals on products, has donated a range of quality new items including tablets, dog beds, toys, bedding, and furniture.
The money raised by YOS will support programming for their at-risk youth clients.
