The power of sight is an incredible tool, especially when given to those who may have accidentally misplaced it.
Thanks to a donation from Groupon Goods, a set of reading glasses and sunglasses was sent to Project Education Plus, a non-profit organization that provides educational services to children, assists disadvantaged families, and aids senior citizens in Chicago’s Cabrini-Green North Town community. Vince Carter, the Executive Director of PEP explained that reading glasses donations are incredibly helpful to their senior citizens, who occasionally lose their readers (who doesn’t?) and can’t always afford new pairs.
Thanks to this donation, Viveca Ford (pictured above) looks stylish and ready to crack open a new book with her new Chloe reading frames! If you would like to create more smiles like Viveca’s, consider making some glasses donations today! Reading is an important educational tool, so glasses donations are sometimes the best possible way to help out youth centers or educational programs! Although highly-customized frames often cannot be donated to new users, generic over-the-counter glasses can easily used by multiple people. New reading glasses are best, but used generic readers are also helpful. In addition, if you have a simple prescription, it may also be helpful to others in need, especially if you send prescription information along with your glasses donations.
In short, if you have extra sets of glasses lying around – especially if they’re generic frames – don’t hesitate to hop onto Zealous Good and donate them today! A smile like Viveca’s could be the result of your good deed!
