Last night, the Zealous Good team, along with 1500 of this city’s brightest innovators, trekked through traffic and the sort of wetness that seems not to come from the sky but from everywhere all at once, to attend the Chicago Innovation Awards.
There was tremendous laughter, and lauding, and break dancing.
Brittany, Nick, and I were a team, introduced ourselves as a team, hung out as a team.
We met great folks from other start-ups and organizations, exchanged stories of how we found ourselves drawn to this, tried desperately to not spill our wine on anyone or anything in the midst of such an energetic and dense crowd.
I cannot overstate how invigorating it is, to work for something you believe in, truly and with the full force of not only your heart but also your head.
We’re young, as far as enterprises go. We have much to learn and to improve, and we are working every day to become the service that you need and we want us to be. But we’re getting there. Every day, your generosity inspires us. Our partner organizations’ dedication recommits us. This city – historied and big shouldered – nurtures us.
We continue. Big things on the horizon. Thanks for sharing the view with us.
Amen, Kristin. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Honored to be on a team that works so hard to do good in our community. Before noon today, 3 people had donated items in Chicago using Zealous Good. Many more great things on the horizon, but we are off to a fantastic start.
