Mobile Food Pantry Day
Date: Saturday, Aug. 13
Time: 8:30am-11am
2907 S. Wabash Chicago, IL 60616
St. James Food Pantry, serving a little over 400 clients, needs help with an upcoming Mobile Food Pantry Day.
Volunteer Duties: Volunteers will be outdoors helping pack and distribute food.
The St. James Food Pantry is essential to the area because it is the largest food pantry in the 60616 zip code and the only food pantry in 60605 zip code. They do not restrict their services based on income or religious affiliation. Clients are served solely on whether or not they reside in the two previously mentioned zip codes. High unemployment levels and increasing scarcity of affordable housing produce a greater need for the services St. James Food Pantry provides. Plenty of free parking is available on the streets
