If you visited the blog in the past week, you might have been surprised by our dashing new design! Don’t worry—all the old posts are there, and it’s now easier to find and rediscover gems from the archives like Brittany’s very first blog post and her eloquent reflection two years later. If you never saw the old blog, welcome new readers! Stick around for the tour as I highlight new and revamped features.
Before we start, I should probably introduce myself. My name is Madeleine, and my title is a bit of a mouthful: I am Zealous Good’s Summer 2014 web design intern. I am the designer and coder behind the blog (and soon for some other parts of the site)!
First, compare the same post before and after:
A world of difference, no? Posts stand out from the page, the sidebar is uncluttered, and the search bar no longer blends in. Plus, you can easily subscribe to our newsletter.
Once you’re done reading a post, you can let others know what you thought by sharing it through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or email! Of course, you can also leave a comment and start a conversation with other readers. Additionally, you can get personalized recommendations for what blog posts to read next thanks to our related content widget.
Now if you scroll all the way to the very bottom of the page, you’ll see a brand new footer! It’s like a visitor’s guide to the Zealous Good site.
- Wondering what exactly Zealous Good does? Check the footer!
- Interested in receiving occasional updates with ways you can engage your community? There’s a newsletter subscription box in the footer!
- Trying to find your way to a different part of the site? Have a specific question and need to talk to one of us? Contact info and a site map down below!
- And lastly, there’s a small gallery of our most recent Instagram photos to show what ZG’s been up to around town. All in the footer!
Any questions about our ongoing redesign? What do you think of the blog’s new look? Let us know! We love to hear from you.
Take a look around! Feel free to make yourself at home and visit again any time!
