What’s Good in April

April is a great month to watch the flowers bloom and to shed some layers. It’s also a great month to get back to exploring the city. Let the warmer temps be your motivation, and our list of charitable events be your guide. Check out the good events happening throughout April:

April 5: The Arts of Life hosts their annual “How We Make It” art show. The show will highlight work from The Arts of Life staff and volunteers. Guests are also invited to a viewing of the documentary “Life and Where I’m at: The Life and Art of Veronica Cuculich.” Cuculich is The Arts of Life founding artist. The event is FREE and open to the public.

April 11: Spend a night at the Drake Hotel for the “Homes 4 the Homeless,” benefitting Renaissance Social Services. The event includes guests Alderman Proco Joe Moreno, astrologer Sylvia Freidman and jazz pianist and YouTube sensation, Anthony Milano.

April 17:  Attend “Ignite the Nite,” a benefit for Naperville nonprofit, KidsMatter. Over 100 high school and junior high performers will exhibit their talents during a spectacular concert that includes dance troupes, vocalists, and instrumentalists.

April 24: Bridge to Success hosts its annual spring benefit. The “Sip for Suits” event is part wine tasting, part networking at the grand East Bank Club located in River North. All proceeds benefit Bridge to Success.

April 27: 826Chi hosts “Promic-Con,” their annual themed fundraiser. Guests are invited to dress in their favorite fangirl/fanboy outfits and dance the night away at the SAIC ballroom.

And remember, if you can’t make it to any of the events, you can still support these and many other Zealous Good organizations by making a charity donation. Have a healthy, happy, and sunny April!
