What’s Good in October

pumpkinsThe leaves are changing and it’s time for pumpkin everything! Spend some time outdoors, help others and make a few new friends while you enjoy the crisp weather. Take a look at some of the events coming up this October.

October 3: Everything’s Gonna Be OK (EGBOK) is holding a fundraiser and silent auction event. Join them to learn more about their Cambodia Project.

October 5: Take part in the second annual Blues On The River with Found Chicago. Enjoy dinner, a silent auction and live music by Mississippi Heat.

October 11: Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity is holding a Breakfast at Tiffany’s fashion event. Join Project Runway finalist, Peach Carr, for this catwalk fashion show benefitting the counseling center for pregnancy help and education.

October 14: Hang out with Creatively Caring at their Columbus Day Kids Carnival for a Cause. The event benefits their mission of supporting those with intellectual disabilities. Enjoy carnival games, face painting and food.

October 16: Ten Thousand Villages in Lincoln Park is having a Community Shopping Event to celebrate World Food Day. Fifteen percent of the day’s profits will be given to Lakeview Pantry.

October 19: Each One Teach One is holding a Caribbean Cocktail event with food, drinks and professional photos. Sign up for this event to have high quality pictures for an engagement, social media profile or your home.

October 20: Take part in the Green Star Movement Monster Dash. Run a 10K or 5K marathon in the costume of your choice to support this organization.

October 26: Join Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association at Pumpkins in the Park 5K.
