Laura’s 8 Great Questions with Chris Stump

Welcome back to “Laura’s 8 Great Questions”. This week I talked to Chris Stump from Mightyvites, who donated men’s clothing to St. Vincent de Paul Center. Check out what he had to say about donating using Zealous Good and more:

1. Tell me about your business/yourself

My sister and I co-founded an event invitation business named Mightyvites. Our focus is weddings and our invitations are hybrids, meaning they are interacted with both online and off. With a Mightyvite, guests receive a letterpress or digitally printed invitation in the mail and RSVP to it online at a website that matches the invite they got in the mail. At the same site guests can view event details such as maps, lodging information, and meal choices. For the customer, Mightyvites provides RSVP tracking, pre-addressed envelopes, invitation mailing, and of course beautiful prints!

2. How long have you been in Chicago?

I grew up in Chicagoland, lived in the city for 8 years, moved away for 5, and then returned. I got back 2 years ago to start Mightyvites and I’m not going anywhere else anytime soon.

3. How did you hear about Zealous Good?

I met the founder, Brittany, at a Chicago Meetup. We had a mutual interest in small business and helped each other “start up”.

4. Why did you decide to use Zealous Good to donate your goods/services?

For one because I know the founder and think it’s important to support local business and entrepreneurs. For two because I think it’s a great idea. I often donate clothes and goods that I don’t use, but until I used ZG I didn’t know if the accepting charity REALLY needed my items. With ZG I know they do, and that makes the donation much more worthwhile.

5. What’s your favorite part about Zealous Good?

That I know the organization I’m donating to really needs the goods I’m dropping off.

6. What’s your favorite part about do gooders in Chicago?

That they honestly mean what they say and act in a way that reflects it. That’s not just Chicago do gooders though, that’s all Chicagoans.

7. Chicago Style Hot Dog or Chicago Style Pizza?

Chicago deep dish. Lou Malnati’s. No doubt.

8. Cubs or Sox?

Cubs. I respect the Sox, but I’m a Northsider.

Thanks Chris! We really appreciated you donating and taking the time to answer “Laura’s 8 Great Questions”. See you next week for another fascinating interview with a do-gooder.
