Need Someone to Pick Up Old Furniture?

Family Dinner

Your furniture is special and can give a home that perfect touch–the way your dining table can bring laughter during a family dinner or how your cozy couch is sometimes the only way to spend a rainy day. Do you have any furniture from a recent move or renovation that you would like to donate? Think of all the good your furniture can do for a family in-need, a homeless shelter, or a charity of your choice. While it might be tough to transport your furniture yourself, we’ve got some places that’ll take care of the pick up. Old furniture, say hello to a new, loving home and memories to come!

If you’re in the Chicago area, then consider using Zealous Good to find out exactly where to donate old furniture. Our simple process lets you both donate easily and pick the Chicago charity to which you wish to give. If you’re not in Chicago though, here are some places that could use your items:

  • Homeless shelters: Homeless shelters can use your old furniture to provide temporary housing for those in-need and to help keep their costs low. Your donation can help provide a sense of security, comfort, and the feel of being in a home once again. To find a homeless shelter that could use your donation, you can start with this directory.

  • Schools, churches and theater groups: These organizations always aim to keep their costs low, and as a result, the wonderful volunteer staff sometimes work with outdated or dilapidated furniture. Maybe consider requesting that your donation goes toward improving the working conditions of our nation’s volunteer workforce. You can find the school, church, or theater group of your choice by using your favorite search engine.

  • Salvation Army: Salvation Army accepts all new and gently-used items and sells them in their well-known retail shops around the country. The sales of your donation go toward their “Adult Rehabilitation programs [which] are funded entirely by the proceeds, you can be sure your beloved recliner will end up providing physical, spiritual and emotional support for program participants.” Enter in your location here so you can schedule a pick up today!

If they are not, then consider 1-800 Got Junk to take care of the hassle at an affordable cost. Additionally, be sure to contact your organization of choice at least 2 weeks in advance so their delivery team will have time to plan the pick up.

Now, whether you’re moving, renovating, or just need to clear out some space you know where you can donate your old furniture. Help give someone’s home or workplace that perfect touch by donating your furniture to a charity today!
